5Selection Process
The selection consists of 3 stages. Every candidate must clear each stage to move forward. The CBE score is used for merit ranking.
1
Computer Based Examination (CBE) Merit Based
Objective type exam. 100 questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes duration (80 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates). Negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer. Three separate CBE papers — one each for Matriculation, Higher Secondary and Graduation level posts. Exam tentatively scheduled in June 2026.
2
Document Verification (DV) Qualifying
Shortlisted candidates are called for verification by the respective user department. Original certificates required — Age proof, Educational qualification, Category certificate and Experience documents.
3
Skill Test / Medical Examination Where Applicable
For certain posts, a skill test (typing, shorthand, physical standards) and/or medical examination may be required as prescribed by the user department. Not applicable for all posts.
6CBE Exam Pattern
The Computer Based Examination has 4 subjects, each with equal weightage. The paper is conducted separately for three qualification levels.
| Part | Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|
| A | General Intelligence (Reasoning) | 25 | 50 |
| B | General Awareness (GK) | 25 | 50 |
| C | Quantitative Aptitude (Maths) | 25 | 50 |
| D | English Language | 25 | 50 |
| TOTAL | 100 | 200 |
⚠ Negative Marking: 0.50 marks are deducted per wrong answer — double compared to most SSC exams. If you get 20 questions wrong, you lose 10 marks. Attempt only when you are confident. Accuracy is critical here.
Key Points:
✓ All questions are Objective Multiple Choice Type
✓ Each correct answer = 2 marks | Each wrong answer = –0.50 marks
✓ Duration: 60 minutes (80 minutes for PwBD candidates with scribe)
✓ Three separate CBE papers — Matric level | Higher Secondary level | Graduation level
✓ Exam language: English and Hindi both available
