2. Eligibility Criteria

A. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

  • Special Note for SC/ST: In case a sufficient number of qualified SC/ST graduates are not available for the reserved vacancies, candidates from these communities who have passed the Intermediate/Pre-University examination may be considered.

B. Physical Standards (Mandatory for Male Candidates)

Disqualifications: You must be free from physical defects such as knock-knee, flat feet, varicose veins, colour blindness, squint, or any morbid condition affecting eyesight or physical ability.


3. Selection Process

The selection process is multi-stage:

A. Written Test (OMR / Online Test)

  • The first stage is a competitive written examination designed to test general knowledge, current affairs, and subject-specific topics (often related to Indian Constitution and Law/Policing duties).

  • Only candidates who qualify in the written test by achieving the prescribed cutoff marks will be called for the subsequent physical tests.

B. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  • Candidates' height and chest measurements will be taken to ensure they meet the minimum standards listed in Section 2.

  • Those who fail the PMT will be disqualified from proceeding further.

C. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Candidates must qualify in a minimum of 5 out of 8 events to be selected for the next stage.

D. Certificate Verification & Interview

  • Qualified candidates undergo verification of all original certificates (educational, age, community, medical fitness).

  • An interview stage may be conducted to assess the candidate's personality and suitability for the role.

E. Final Ranked List

  • A final ranked list is prepared based on the candidate's performance in the written test, interview, and qualification in the physical tests.

  • The Ranked List remains valid for one year, during which appointments are made against reported vacancies.


4. Application Method

  1. One Time Registration (OTR): Candidates must first register on the official Kerala PSC website (www.keralapsc.gov.in) through the 'One Time Registration' system.

  2. Apply: Log in to your profile and find the notification using the Category Number (446/2025 or 447/2025) under the Police (Armed Police Battalion) Department.

  3. Submission: Fill in the application form, upload a recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months), and submit it before the last date, 31.12.2025.
