✅ Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following educational and age requirements:

Educational Qualification

  • Senior Technical Assistant-B (STA-B):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc) OR a Three-year Diploma in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science) from an AICTE recognized Institute.

  • Technician-A (Tech-A):

    • Class 10th (Matriculation) pass AND a valid ITI Certificate (NTC/NAC) in the relevant trade (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, COPA, Welder).

Age Limit (As per Short Notice)

  • STA-B: 18 to 29 Years.

  • Tech-A: 18 to 28 Years.

    • Note: Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM) is applicable as per Government of India rules.


📝 Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection process is a two-tier system, and the exam format is a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

1. Senior Technical Assistant-B (STA-B) Selection

The process involves two tiers of Computer-Based Tests:

  • Tier-I (CBT for Screening):

    • Nature: Screening Test (Marks are for shortlisting only).

    • Content: Common to all disciplines. Includes Quantitative Ability/Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language (Basic Knowledge), and General Science.

    • Expected Pattern: 120 Questions, 120 Marks, 90 Minutes.

  • Tier-II (CBT for Provisional Selection):

    • Nature: Final Selection Test.

    • Content: Questions are specific to the candidate's technical discipline (Trade-specific).

    • Expected Pattern: 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 90 Minutes.

2. Technician-A (Tech-A) Selection

The process involves a CBT followed by a Trade Test:

  • Tier-I (CBT for Provisional Selection):

    • Nature: Selection Test (Provisional selection is based on merit in this Tier).

    • Content (Section A): Quantitative Ability/Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language (Basic Knowledge) - Expected to be 40 Questions total.

    • Content (Section B): Questions specific to the candidate's ITI trade/discipline - Expected to be 80 Questions.

    • Expected Pattern: 120 Questions (40+80), 120 Marks, 90 Minutes.

  • Tier-II (Trade Test):

    • Nature: Qualifying in Nature.

    • Content: Practical tests to assess hands-on skills related to the specific ITI trade. This test will be approximately one to two hours long.

Note: There is no negative marking expected in the CBT exams.

  4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your Photograph, Signature, 10th Certificate, and Essential Qualification Certificates (Degree/Diploma/ITI) as per the specified format.

  5. Pay Application Fee: Submit the application fee online (₹100 for applicable categories).

1. Senior Technical Assistant-B (STA-B) Syllabus

The STA-B selection involves two tiers of Computer-Based Tests (CBT).

Tier-I: CBT (Screening Test)

This section is common to all STA-B post-codes. The questions are generally of the Diploma/Degree level.

  • Preparation Focus: Core Engineering concepts, applied science, and specialized topics covered during the diploma or B.Sc. degree course.


2. Technician-A (Tech-A) Syllabus

The Tech-A selection involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Trade Test.

Tier-I: CBT (Provisional Selection Test)
