A total of 9,195 posts are available across two wings. The Technical & Tradesmen wing is distributed state/UT-wise, while Pioneer Wing posts are on an all-India basis.

3Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Post	Minimum Qualification
Constable (Driver)	10th Pass + Valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving Licence. Must clear the driving test at recruitment stage.
Constable (Motor Mechanic)	10th Pass + 2-year ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle OR 3-year apprenticeship + 1-year practical experience.
Constable (Other Tradesmen)	10th Pass + proven trade proficiency. Trades: Cook, Tailor, Cobbler, Carpenter, Painter, Barber, Washerman, Safai Karmachari, Bugler, Gardner, Brass/Pipe Band etc.
Constable (Pioneer)	10th Pass + ITI in respective trade OR minimum 1-year experience in masonry / electrical work.

Age Limit & Relaxation

Constable (Driver): 21 to 27 years — born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2005
All Other Posts: 18 to 23 years — born between 02.01.2003 and 01.01.2008

5Selection Process — 7 Stages

Every stage is qualifying — you must clear each one to proceed. The CBT marks are used for the final merit list.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)Qualifying

Male (Tradesmen): Run 5 km in 24 minutes. Female: Run 1.6 km in 8 min 30 sec. Different timings for Cook, Safai Karmachari and Pioneer posts per official notification.

Physical Standard Test (PST)Qualifying

Height, chest (male only) and weight measured. Must meet official standards. Relaxations apply for reserved category candidates from certain regions.

Biometric Data Capturing

Fingerprint recording and photograph capturing to prevent impersonation at the exam centre.

Computer Based Test (CBT)Merit Based

100 objective questions, 100 marks, 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer. Paper in English and Hindi at Matriculation level. CBT marks decide the final merit.

Trade / Skill TestQualifying

Practical trade test for 50 marks. Minimum qualifying: 20 out of 50. You must demonstrate your trade skill physically.

Document Verification (DV)

Original documents checked — 10th Marksheet, ITI / Trade Certificate, Category Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Age Proof etc.

Detailed Medical Examination (DME)Qualifying

Full medical check-up. Review Medical Examination (RME) available if you disagree with the result. Vision, colour blindness, hearing, bone structure etc. are tested.

10Top 6 Preparation Tips

Handle Negative Marking Smartly

Attempting 80 correctly gives 80 marks. Attempting 100 with 25 wrong gives only 93.75 marks. Accuracy always wins. Skip if you are less than 60% sure.

Open the CBT with the section you know best. This builds confidence and saves time for harder sections. Most students start with Reasoning or GK.

All Maths questions come from Class 10 level. NCERT books for Class 8, 9, and 10 cover 100% of the syllabus. Solve every exercise — not just examples.

Read News Daily for GK

Read one newspaper or watch news daily for 15 minutes. Focus on government schemes, sports, science, national events from the last 6 months.

Solve Reasoning Without Pen

Train your mind to solve Number Series, Coding-Decoding and Analogies without writing. This saves 8–10 minutes — enough for 7–8 extra questions.

Take Full-Length Timed Mocks

Practice full 100-question mocks in exactly 120 minutes every week. After each mock, check where you went wrong. Patterns of mistakes show you what to study more.

13How to Apply Online — Step by Step

Applications accepted online only at rect.crpf.gov.in. Once submitted, no changes are allowed.

Visit rect.crpf.gov.in. Click on "Recruitment for Constable (Technical & Tradesmen and Pioneer) 2026".

Step-I: New Registration

Register using your full name (exactly as in Matriculation certificate), a valid email ID, and mobile number. Login credentials will be sent to your email.

Step-II: Fill the Application Form

Fill personal details, address, category, educational qualification, trade applied for, and state/UT preference. The domicile state cannot be changed after submission.

Upload Photograph & Signature

Photo: 50–100 KB, not older than 3 months. Signature: 50–100 KB on white paper with black ink. Both in JPG/JPEG format.

Pay Application Fee

Pay ₹100 (if applicable) via BHIM / UPI / Net Banking / Debit or Credit Card. SC, ST, Female and ESM candidates are exempted from fee.

Submit & Save Confirmation

Submit the form. Download the final confirmation page and keep a printout safe — this is your proof of application.
